Soohyun shrugged off the cold like a blanket as he entered the warm atmosphere of the cafe. The delicious smell of sweets accompanied by the strong scent of fresh coffee was almost overwhelming; almost, and Soohyun found himself smiling. That was why this was his favorite cafe. He quickly ordered himself a cup of coffee and went to look around for the perfect seat.
It was then that he noticed her: a beautiful girl sitting at the front next to the window, her cheeks stained with tears. Immediately struck with curiosity and sympathy, he made his way over to her. At his approach, she glanced up at him, but then hurriedly averted her eyes. She was obviously not wanting of attention, but Soohyun wasn’t one to leave a pretty girl alone to suffer.
“Why are you crying?” He asked. The girl said nothing and Soohyun frowned. “Why are you crying?” he repeated.
She shook her head and only continued to cry. Soohyun sat down next to her and leaned over to get a better look at her. She really was pretty, he thought. “Did something bad happen? A breakup maybe?” He pressed, and when she still didn’t say anything, he sighed. If he couldn’t get her to tell him what was wrong, at least he could try and cheer her up.
“Won’t you please stop crying? I bet you look absolutely gorgeous when you smile.” He proceeded with an attempt to make her laugh by making ridiculous faces, which could have been successful had she been looking at him.
Another sigh. “Please stop crying?” Silence. “If… If I buy you desserts and hot chocolate and sing for you, then will you stop crying?”
The girl sniffed. Soohyun’s heart skipped a beat as she seemed to ready herself to speak. “M-maybe…” She hiccuped.
Soohyun beamed at her. “It’s a done deal.”
